2015 Scotchmans Hill Bellarine Peninsula Chardonnay

2015 Scotchmans Hill Bellarine Peninsula Chardonnay, $35

2015 was the best vintage in years for white varieties at Scotchmans Hill. Everything that has come out of this Geelong, Victoria, winery from 2015 has displayed lots of natural acidity and flavour, and this beautiful Chardonnay is no exception. Wild fermented and matured in a mix of new and old French oak, it’s a little bit nutty, a little bit creamy – classy and refined, but really making you sit up and take notice with its intense melon and citrus characters. This just-released wine has already won a trophy and a few golds; we’re not surprised that the kudos are rolling in.
