Friday Food TipFoodLogoSparkling Strawberry Lemonade: Place in a saucepan 1 cup of water, 1/3 cup sugar, 1 cup of hulled and sliced strawberries, and a vanilla bean which has been sliced open (scrape the seeds into the pan). Simmer for 10 minutes then remove the vanilla bean. Blend the mixture and when smooth, adding 1 cup fresh lemon juice and zest of half a lemon before blending a few seconds more. Strain, then add 1½ cups sparkling water and stir. Pour into glasses over ice then garnish with strawberries and lemon slices.
