Friday Food TipFoodLogoFor an easy salted caramel sauce, melt 125g butter (salted) and add the seeds from half a vanilla bean, 200g light brown sugar, 125ml thickened cream and ½ teaspoon salt. Bring to the boil, stirring quickly with a whisk. Remove from the heat as soon as the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is a lovely caramel colour. Makes 2 cups.
