Four Winds Vineyard 2015 Shiraz, $30
The Canberra district is known for its cool-climate Shiraz, fragrant and elegant with alluring hints of pepper and spice. This wine, from the fantastic 2015 vintage, is all of that and more, with sweet cherry, plum and vanilla notes, assertive but harmonious tannins, and a lingering finish to extend the drinking pleasure. I’ve watched this vineyard develop from infancy and am impressed with how its wines just keep getting better and better. Its Shiraz is a stand-out.
