Peter Lehmann 2016 Grenache Rosé, $18.95
South Australia’s Barossa Valley has a wonderful resource in its abundance of Grenache and while it’s especially good in red blends it also makes a very nice Rosé. This one is a medium pink colour, not as pale as the Provence style of Rosé but not overly dark either. It has generous flavours of sweet red strawberries and raspberries but the finish is crisp and dry, making it a perfect quaffing wine as well as a good match for a wide range of foods. It goes especially nicely with Asian dishes. We knocked up a great Pad Thai using a kit bought from the Yandina market, and the Rosé went beautifully with it.
