Bremerton 2017 Bâtonnage Shiraz Malbec, $32

Langhorne Creek is a gem of a region south-east of Adelaide, noted for its full-bodied reds. The climate is significantly cooler than neighbouring McLaren Vale and that gives this Shiraz Malbec blend a lovely finesse, highlighting its fine tannins and appealing chocolate/spice notes. The addition of Malbec gives complexity in the middle of the palate and although it is very easy to drink now, it will likely develop more complexity with age. There’s a hint of mint or eucalyptus as you might expect from this region, too.
