Eat Local in the Scenic Rim

Eat Local Month in Queensland’s Scenic Rim region is one of Australia’s most authentic paddock-to-plate experiences, and when it returns in June it will be the 15th year in which it has been showcasing the region’s produce.

Tickets go on sale next week for Eat Local Month, which kicks off on May 29 and continues until June 30. Just an hour from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the Scenic Rim is a picturesque, productive region with a rich farming heritage.

During Eat Local Month, farmers, producers, winemakers, distillers, and local venues open their gates and tables to guests with long lunches in paddocks and vineyards, dinners under open skies, hands-on workshops, masterclasses, farm tours, and meet-the-producer experiences.

This year’s program is a veritable feast with 150+ events, more than 50 of them new. The program includes 40 lunches and dinners, 60+ workshops and hands-on experiences, and 48 family-friendly adventures.

Luxury Culinary Escape

Here’s another good reason to visit the Scenic Rim. The Scenic Rim Trail is one of Australia’s premier walks, generally experienced in a four-day, 47km trek through Gondwana Rainforest with steep volcanic peaks and panoramic views.

But in July, you can get a delicious and more relaxed taste of the Trail in a two-night culinary escape at Canopy Luxury Tents. From July 24 to July 26, the Chef Weekend is hosted by head chef Jake Knauth and sous chef Nicky Shen, with all meals designed to celebrate seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

There’ll be a pickling and preserving masterclass as well, along with an optional afternoon guided hike. Accommodation is in luxury safari-style tents in a private eco-camp. More information here

Noosa Food & Wine Festival

Four days of mouth-watering menus, chef collaborations and pop-up events in gorgeous beachfront and hinterland settings are in store when the 2026 Noosa Food & Wine Festival kicks off on June 11.

Running until June 14, the festival brings together celebrated restaurants, drink brands and hospitality leaders in a program that is its most ambitious yet.

The festival has dropped the Noosa Eat & Drink name it acquired in 2019, reverting to its original name in a move that organizers have described as “honouring the festival’s legacy while embracing an exciting new chapter”.

At the heart of the event is the Festival Village where ticketholders can enjoy complimentary canapes and a cocktail, a reusable festival glass, access to all lounges and entertainment.

Signature events include an Italian Long Lunch on Noosa Main Beach, Latin flavours on board the Catalina as it cruises the Noosa River, and an exclusive lunch for just 40 people on Makepeace Island.

The Restaurant Series promises special culinary experiences and collaborations at 19 of Noosa’s finest dining venues, including Sum Yung Guys partnering with Marion Grasby, Light Years partnering with Long Time from Bali, and Noosa Hinterland’s newest restaurant, The Woodshed Kin Kin partnering with The Dining Room from Mornington Peninsula.
