The Beachcomber Hotel & Resort: perfect for a stay on the NSW Central Coast.

With a touch of chic and a beach club feel, The Beachcomber Hotel & Resort in Toukley is perfect for a stay on the New South Wales Central Coast.

Known to locals as The Beachie, the hotel wasn’t always as sophisticated as it is now. But a multi-million-dollar renovation and a change of ownership has brought a sparkle to the resort that’s as bright as the sunshiny day which greets us on our arrival.

The Beachcomber is in the heart of the Central Coast on the shores of Budgewoi Lake. Turning its back on a busy main road in Toukley, it faces the water with nearly a hundred metres of lake frontage and its own private pier.

The sweeping water views are relaxing and invigorating at the same time, and in no time at all we’ve marked out our spot on our balcony.

The resort has a Hamptons-inspired ambience and so our room has a faint blue and white art deco-style seashell pattern on the walls with white cornices and shutters to the internal bathroom. The king-sized bed is super comfy with crisp linen and plump pillows.

The Hamptons theme continues with blue and white ceramic tiles in the bathroom, the white shutters providing privacy but allowing light through from outside.

Our room overlooks the lake and the resort swimming pool, the latter surrounded by palms, cabanas, blue and white striped lounges, and yellow and white beach umbrellas.

The renovations have provided a range of facilities for drinking, dining, entertainment and lounging, including an exclusive pool club (Club Cyan) and a huge outdoor beer garden (The Boatshed).

Additionally, there’s Peachie’s Bar, The Beachie Bar & Grill, Bistro at The Beachie, and Pelican’s Restaurant. We didn’t try the restaurants so we can’t speak for them, although we did enjoy a freshly cooked hot breakfast in Pelican’s.

The bistro has a cool vibe and reputedly does great pizzas and cocktails. Pelican’s has a seafood-inspired menu and a modern casual ambience with timber floors, cane light shades, and banquette seating in mint green.

Situated midway between Sydney and Newcastle, the hotel is close to wonderful beaches and natural attractions, and to walking tracks in Wyrrabalong National Park. There’s so much to do in the area and you’ll find oodles of inspiration in our post, Six Reasons To Visit The New South Wales Central Coast.

The Beachcomber Hotel & Resort is the perfect place to get into holiday mode, enjoy a weekend getaway, or celebrate a special event. Parking is free and under cover.
